Valencia, 3. nap

Kedves Olvasóim!

A napot az immár szokásos bemelegítéssel kezdtük. Egyszerű volt arra válaszolni, hogy ki mit csinált a tegnapi tanítás után, hiszen a nap nagy részét együtt töltötte a csoport. A mai napot is tantermen kívüli foglalkozás volt a fő aktivitásunk, egy kincsvadászat, ehhez le kellett töltenünk egy alkalmazást a telefonunkra. Ez az app a Goosechase volt, szerencsére vendégként is lehet használni. Mariya bemutatta nekünk az alkalmazást, részletesen ismertette a feladatunkat. Mivel kevesen vagyunk, így a csapatverseny elmarad, de csapatban fogjuk teljesíteni a feladatokat.

A kincsvadászat érdekes volt, segített felfedezni az óvárost, csapatépítő jellege is volt, illetve angolul kellett kommunikálnunk. Egy órás szintidőt kaptunk, az elején még azt hittük lesz időnk, hogy megigyunk egy horchatát és hozzá együnk egy kis fartont, sajnos ez csak terv maradt. A játék során megtaláltuk a város legkeskenyebb házát, David de Limon graffiti figuráit. A legkeskenyebb ház homlokzata 107 cm széles, a földszintet már egybeépítették a mellette lévő épület földszintjével, de az emeleteken még látni a keskenységet. Állítólag az adózás miatt építették ilyenre és állítólag ez Európa legkeskenyebb háza.

A kincskeresés után egy kis nyelvtanórát kaptunk, de érdekes volt, a néma betűkkel foglalkoztunk, amelyeket nem ejtenek az angol nyelvben. Mariya mutatott pár jó webes alkalmazást, melyet tanórán tudunk használni. Az utolsó nagyobb foglalkozásunk egy storybook alkotása volt. Kaptunk egy példát, majd annak a mintájára a saját történetünket kellett megírni, a megadott igeidő és mód használatával.

Mindegyik foglalkozás jó és érdekes volt, de mai napon legjobb foglakozás a kincskeresés volt. Estére pedig vár minket egy másik izgalmas élmény, a teljes napfogyatkozás. A csoport közösen fogja megtekinteni a tengerpartról.

We started the day with our now customary warm-up activity. It was easy to answer the question about what everyone had done after yesterday’s lessons, since the group had spent most of the day together.

Today’s main activity also took place outside the classroom: a treasure hunt. To participate, we had to download an app to our phones. The app was called Goosechase, and fortunately it could also be used as a guest. Mariya introduced the application to us and explained our task in detail. Since there are only a few of us, there was no team competition, but we completed the challenges together as one group.

The treasure hunt was very interesting. It helped us discover the Old Town, had a team-building element, and required us to communicate in English. We were given a one-hour time limit. At the beginning, we thought we would even have enough time to drink a horchata and enjoy a farton, but unfortunately that remained just a plan.

During the game, we found the narrowest house in the city and several of David de Limón’s graffiti figures. The façade of the narrowest house is only 107 cm wide. The ground floor has already been merged with the neighbouring building, but on the upper floors its remarkable narrowness is still clearly visible. It is said that the house was built that way for tax reasons, and it is also claimed to be the narrowest house in Europe.

After the treasure hunt, we had a short grammar lesson. However, it was quite interesting, as we focused on silent letters, which are written but not pronounced in English. Mariya also showed us several useful web-based applications that we can use in our own classes.

Our final major activity was creating a storybook. First, we were given an example, and then, based on that model, we had to write our own story using the specified tense and grammatical structure.

All of the activities were enjoyable and engaging, but the treasure hunt was definitely the highlight of the day for me. This evening, another exciting experience awaits us: a total solar eclipse. The group will watch it together from the seaside.
