Pula 3. nap - Senkeiné Baranyai Judit

Nemzetközi bemutatkozás és időutazás Pula város történelmében... 

Ma hivatalosan is elkezdődött az Erasmus+ angol nyelvi kurzusunk! A délelőttöt az ismerkedésnek szenteltük: a program a résztvevők személyes bemutatkozásával indult, majd a küldő iskolák prezentációival és videós anyagaival folytatódott. Nagyon családias hangulatú, hét fős csoport alakult ki, amelyben egy francia kolléga mellett hatan képviseljük Magyarországot. A színes bemutatkozásoknak köszönhetően pillanatok alatt sikerült jobban megismernünk egymást és az otthoni intézményeinket.

A jégtörő feladatok után gyorsan munkához is láttunk. A szakmai program első blokkjában az oktatáshoz kapcsolódó, aktuális témákban gyakoroltuk az érveléstechnikát, először egyéni felkészüléssel, majd pörgős csoportos viták formájában.

Délután a tantermet magunk mögött hagyva egy másfél órás, helyi vezetéssel kísért sétára indultunk, hogy felfedezzük Pula mesés kulturális örökségét. Az idegenvezetőnk segítségével bejártuk a legfontosabb történelmi helyszíneket:

• Pulai Aréna: A monumentális, ókori római amfiteátrum, amely a város abszolút jelképe.
• Sergius-diadalív (Aranykapu): A hangulatos sétálóutca elején álló, gazdagon díszített ókori emlékmű.

• Augustus temploma: A Fórum téren magasodó, lenyűgöző épségben megmaradt római kori szentély.

• Ikerkapu (Dvojna vrata) és a Városfal: A város egykori védelmi rendszerének fennmaradt kőkapuja.

A séta során felmentünk a hangulatos, macskaköves óvárosba is, ahol betértünk a híres Aura kézműves boltba, hogy megcsodáljuk az isztriai lekvárokat, likőröket és hagyományos termékeket. Innen a dombtetőn álló Kastel (Velencei erőd) felé vettük az irányt. A vár melletti panorámás kilátóról lélegzetelállító kilátás tárult elénk: beláttuk a végtelen tengert, a patinás Uljanik hajógyár monumentális daruit, és a kikötő felett magasodó, patinás, békebeli hangulatú Guest House Hotel Riviera jellegzetes történelmi épületét is.

A tartalmas és gyaloglással teli délutánt a hangulatos Fórum téren koronáztuk meg. A vacsorát a tér egyik kiváló helyén, az Imperium Bistro vendéglőben költöttük el. A kivilágított ókori épületek szomszédságában, igazi mediterrán nyüzsgésben beszéltük át a nap élményeit. 

Fantasztikus kezdet volt, kíváncsian várjuk a holnapi folytatást!

An international introduction and a journey through Pula’s history

Our Erasmus+ English language course officially began today! We spent the morning getting to know one another: the programme began with the participants introducing themselves, followed by presentations and video material from the sending schools. A very friendly group of seven people has formed, in which six of us represent Hungary alongside one colleague from France. Thanks to the colourful introductions, we managed to get to know each other and our home institutions better in no time at all.

After the ice-breaker activities, we quickly got down to work. In the first block of the professional programme, we practised argumentation techniques on current topics related to education, first through individual preparation and then in the form of lively group debates.

In the afternoon, leaving the classroom behind, we set off on a one-and-a-half-hour guided walk to discover Pula’s fabulous cultural heritage. With the help of our tour guide, we visited the most important historical sites:

Pula Arena: The monumental ancient Roman amphitheatre, which is the city’s undisputed symbol.

Arch of Sergius (Golden Gate): A richly decorated ancient monument standing at the start of the charming pedestrianised street.

Temple of Augustus: A Roman-era sanctuary, towering over Forum Square, which has survived in a remarkably intact condition.

Twin Gate (Dvojna vrata) and the City Wall: The surviving stone gate of the city’s former defence system.

During our walk, we also made our way up to the charming, cobbled old town, where we popped into the famous Aura craft shop to admire the Istrian jams, liqueurs and traditional products. From there, we headed towards Kastel (the Venetian fortress) perched on the hilltop. From the panoramic viewing point next to the fortress, a breathtaking view unfolded before us: we could see the endless sea, the monumental cranes of the historic Uljanik shipyard, and the distinctive historic building of the Guest House Hotel Riviera, with its pre-war atmosphere, towering above the harbour. 

We rounded off an eventful afternoon full of walking at the charming Forum Square. We had dinner at one of the square’s finest establishments, the Imperium Bistro. Amidst the illuminated ancient buildings, surrounded by a true Mediterranean buzz, we chatted about the day’s experiences. It was a fantastic start, and we’re eagerly looking forward to tomorrow’s adventures!
