Pulai továbbképzés – 4. nap

Ma ismét egy élményekkel teli napot zárhattunk Pulában. A reggelt egy kellemes sétával kezdtük: elsétáltunk a híres pulai amfiteátrumhoz, ahol ezúttal nem a történelemé, hanem a játéké volt a főszerep.

Három csapatra osztottak bennünket, és megismerkedtünk a Goosechase nevű alkalmazással. Egy igazi kalandjátékban vettünk részt, ahol vicces és kreatív feladatokat kellett megoldanunk, majd fotóval vagy videóval bizonyítani a teljesítést. Mindezt természetesen kizárólag angolul! Nagyon sokat nevettünk, közben pedig észre sem vettük, hogy folyamatosan angolul kommunikálunk. Különösen tetszett, hogy a többi csapat megoldásait is láthattuk. Már most tudom, hogy ezt az alkalmazást otthon is meg fogom mutatni a kollégáknak, mert szerintem a diákok is imádnák.

A játék után a helyi piacra sétáltunk. A halpiac mindig különleges élmény, de most volt időnk alaposabban is körülnézni. Rengeteg friss tengeri halat és tengeri herkentyűt láttunk, majd végigsétáltunk a helyi termelők standjai között. Sajtok, sonkák, olívaolajok, gyümölcsök és még sok más finomság sorakozott mindenfelé. Több helyen meg is kóstolhattuk a helyi termékeket, így a napnak ez a része igazi gasztronómiai élménnyé vált.

Ezután visszatértünk az iskolába, ahol a kellemesen hűvös tanterem már szinte felüdülést jelentett a kinti meleg után. Egy angol hallás utáni szövegértési feladat következett, majd néhány nyelvtani gyakorlat. Jó volt egy kicsit újra a nyelvre koncentrálni a délelőtti mozgalmas program után.

A nap végén ismét mesterséges intelligenciával készítettünk prezentációkat. A Canva most valamiért nem volt a helyzet magaslatán, csak egyetlen diát sikerült generálnia, így ez most csalódást okozott. A Gamma viszont újra remekül teljesített: gyorsan, látványosan és meglepően jó minőségben készített teljes prezentációkat. Egyre inkább érzem, hogy ezek az eszközök a tanításban is nagyon hasznosak lehetnek.

A délutáni szabadidőt ismét a városban töltöttük. Lesétáltunk a kikötőbe, és onnan néztük végig a naplementét. Ahogy a nap lassan eltűnt a tenger fölött, igazán különleges hangulata lett az estének. Már most izgatottan várom a jövő hetet, amikor naplemente idején részleges napfogyatkozás lesz. Biztos vagyok benne, hogy rengetegen gyűlnek majd össze ugyanitt, hogy együtt figyeljék ezt a ritka természeti jelenséget.

Ahogy telnek a napok, egyre inkább azt érzem, hogy ez a továbbképzés nemcsak a nyelvtudásomat fejleszti, hanem rengeteg új ötletet is ad a tanításhoz. Jó látni, hogy mennyi digitális eszközzel lehet játékossá és élményszerűvé tenni a tanulást. Kíváncsian várom, mit tartogat számunkra a holnapi, egyben utolsó előtti képzési nap.

Pula Training Program – Day 4

Today we had another day full of experiences in Pula. We started the morning with a pleasant walk: we strolled over to the famous Pula amphitheater, where this time it wasn’t history but play that took center stage.

We were divided into three teams and introduced to an app called Goosechase. We took part in a real adventure game where we had to solve fun and creative challenges, then prove we’d completed them with a photo or video. All of this, of course, was done exclusively in English! We laughed a lot, and in the process, we didn’t even notice that we were communicating in English the whole time. I especially liked that we could see the other teams’ solutions as well. I already know that I’m going to show this app to my colleagues back home, because I think the students would love it too.

After the game, we strolled over to the local market. The fish market is always a special experience, but this time we had time to take a closer look around. We saw plenty of fresh fish and seafood, then walked through the stalls set up by local producers. Cheeses, hams, olive oils, fruits, and many other delicacies were lined up everywhere. We were even able to sample the local products at several places, so this part of the day turned into a real culinary experience.

Afterward, we returned to the school, where the pleasantly cool classroom felt like a breath of fresh air after the heat outside. We did an English listening comprehension exercise, followed by a few grammar drills. It was nice to refocus on the language a bit after the busy morning program.

At the end of the day, we once again created presentations using artificial intelligence. For some reason, Canva wasn’t up to par this time—it only managed to generate a single slide, which was disappointing. Gamma, on the other hand, performed brilliantly once again: it created complete presentations quickly, impressively, and with surprisingly high quality. I’m increasingly convinced that these tools can be very useful in teaching as well.

We spent our free time in the afternoon in the city again. We walked down to the harbor and watched the sunset from there. As the sun slowly disappeared over the sea, the evening took on a truly special atmosphere. I’m already eagerly looking forward to next week, when there will be a partial solar eclipse at sunset. I’m sure that a huge crowd will gather right here to watch this rare natural phenomenon together.

As the days go by, I feel more and more that this continuing education program is not only improving my language skills but also giving me plenty of new ideas for teaching. It’s great to see how many digital tools there are that can make learning fun and engaging. I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing what tomorrow—the second-to-last day of the course—has in store for us.
